We have BIP270 basically implemented in ESV, but it lacks signing — which brings us back to the Paymail topic as mentioned in the article. Paymail is in the ESV development branch. It is unclear how long it will take to get Paymail ready given the refactoring needed for it. So that leaves us with the base58 non-paymail non-bip270 interim solution.
